Regarding extents attribute

I believe extents attribute define a rectangular boundary, as in below query.

I would like to know if there is a library existing whereby I can plug in a point latlng, and retrieve an extents [rectangular boundary] of say 500m [from that point]?

an extents can be a polygon too [like the polygon boundary of a planning area]?

Yes, there is a geospatial library known as Turfjs. You might want to check it out. Currently, it has quite a number of known versions for various languages.
